FENCING SUMMER CAMP
JOIN US FOR OUR ANNUAL FENCING SUMMER CAMP!
We have realigned our fencing center to follow the best practices given out by the CDC and Maine State Governor Janet Mills to bring "in person" fencing camps and a focus on social distancing this summer while fencing. Our Small Group Beginner camps are just that; smaller but we will still maintain the 1:6 staff to camper ratio. We will be accepting no more than 8 campers at a time and each has their own separate area for safety and convenience. Our campers will need to be prepared to wear a mask during their camp experience, there will be no exceptions, as we want to follow the best practices for all of our health. We will work "mask breaks" into our day that we feel are safe and will be held at your own station. Each station will be sanitized every day and is equipped with an individual target, chair, and place for your equipment bag.
Fencing Gear: Our beginner campers will need to provide the two most personal items used in our sport, a fencing glove and chest guard in order to participate. These items and can be purchased at absolutefencinggear.com. PFC will supply the mask and Jacket, on loan, with the expectation they will be washed everyday or sanitized and hung up overnight.
All of PFC camp staff are safe sport certified and are current members of the USA fencing. Our assistant coaches and administrative staff are under the guidance and direction of head coach Nancy Reynolds.
FENCERS MUST REMEMBER TO BRING THEIR GEAR DAILY OR THEY CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN THE FENCING ACTIVITIES FOR THE DAY
Fencing is challenging both physically and mentally. It's fun, great exercise and only those who are bitten by the challenge will have the strength to hold the hilt. We want our fencers to discover themselves during camp week and win or lose with grace and good sportsmanship while having fun learning this fantastic sport.
Small Group Intermediate Camp
Ages: All ages (kids)
Time: 9am - 3pm
Required: Full Gear and more than one year fencing experience

Fencing victories develop from training both the physical and mental part of the game. Victories come in both small and large ways. At the end of each week everyone will be able to do something that they have never done before. Self-esteem and self-confidence are all areas that fencing helps to develop. To understand winning? Winning is only possible if you think it's possible. If you think you will lose you will lose. If you think you will win, you can win. Mindset is everything on the fencing strip. Come join us!
Small Group Beginners Camp

PFC's beginner half-day camp is about learning the basics, accomplishing form and developing your own style. At the end of each week we will expect to have learned and be able to execute the foundational fencing positions. Our camps have a strong focus on demonstrating good sportsmanship, following the rules, and listening with respect for others. We want to know everyone is valued while we play and most of all have some fun fencing!
